newcastle v west ham prediction

Newcastle United host West Ham at St James’ Park on Saturday lunchtime with Steve Bruce hoping to pick up points to move one step closer to securing a spot in the Premier League next season. His Newcastle side are now six points ahead of 18th placed Fulham after a crucial win against Burnley last weekend and picking up a point with a late equaliser against Tottenham a week earlier. However, Newcastle now begin a tough run of five consecutive fixtures against top-half sides, starting with their match against high-flying West Ham on Saturday.

West Ham have surprised many this season and David Moyes’ side currently sit 4th in the Premier League, just one point adrift of third-placed Leicester City. One thing is almost certain with West Ham and that is that we’ll see goals from them. The Hammers have netted no less than nine goals in their last three matches which helped them pick up maximum points against Leicester and Wolves and one against Arsenal; a match that they should have won after taking a 3-0 lead.

Newcastle v West Ham Prediction

It’s no surprise to see West Ham as favourites here given their current form but Newcastle are unbeaten on home soil in their last four matches. The outcome may come down to whether or not Newcastle can keep West Ham at bay as the Magpies have only managed an average of 1.1 goals in their last 10 games. If West Ham manage to find the net two or more times on Saturday, we believe it will be game over for Newcastle and that is what we’re predicting to happen.

Newcastle have managed to score in nine of their last ten matches at St James Park but in only three of them did they find the net more than once. Therefore, we’re predicting a 2-1 away win for West Ham which would see them claim the third spot in the league, at least until Leicester play their next Premier League match the following Thursday.
