Manchester United v Newcastle United matched betting tips for the Premier League match at Old Trafford on Saturday 18th November. Read the match preview and predictions for Man Utd v Newcastle matched betting tips.
Manchester United cannot afford to lose any more ground in the Premier League title race, with an 8 point gap between themselves and runaway leaders Manchester City. They’ll be looking to regain the winning thread against newly promoted Newcastle United who sit safely in mid-table after a respectable start to the campaign.
Manchester United Team News
Phil Jones sustained a thigh injury on international duty for England but is expected to be passed fit and should slot in alongside Eric Bailly at centre-back. Midfielders Paul Pogba and Marcos Rojo are both nearing a comeback from their respective injuries but it would be a surprise if either were involved from the start. Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan look assured of a starting berth but Jose Mourinho has a decision to make between Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
Newcastle United Team News
Mikel Merino has been a revelation for Newcastle, so will be a big miss from their midfield. His absence through injury will see Jonjo Shelvey partner Isaac Hayden in the double pivot. Jamaal Lascelles is doubtful and Chancel Mbemba seemingly out of favour, so Ciaran Clark is tipped for a recall alongside Florian Lejeune in central defence. Jacob Murphy will continue to deputise for Christian Atsu on the left-flank and Aleksander Mitrovic will hope for some game time off the bench, as Rafa Benitez keeps faith in Joselu.

Manchester United v Newcastle United Predictions
After keeping pace with Man City in the opening few weeks, Man Utd have started to lose ground on their local rivals. The international break may have been timely, as the Red Devils are beginning to get a few players back from injury. Jose Mourinho will hope to re-energise his squad and build some momentum heading into a busy winter period.
Newcastle have made a decent fist of things so far. It’s fair to say that Rafa Benitez is doing the best possible job with the players at his disposal, having been unable to significantly bolster the squad in the summer transfer window. However, they are struggling for goals at the moment, which does not bode well ahead of a trip to Old Trafford.
Man Utd are unbeaten in their last 22 home matches in the Premier League and are yet to concede a goal at home this season. Newcastle have won just one of their last 16 away matches in the top-flight and would do well to upset the odds here. There have been some thrilling matches between these sides over the years but this one’s tipped to be a slow burner, which Man Utd should edge.
