Man Utd v Tottenham matched betting tips for the Premier League match at Old Trafford on Saturday 28th October. Read the match preview and predictions for Man Utd v Tottenham matched betting tips.

This is a real clash of the titans fixture, with both sides hoping they will be able to challenge the current leaders Manchester City for the Premier League title. Even though Manchester United were shocked away at Huddersfield Town last Saturday, they have still started the season really well, particularly at Old Trafford. Spurs look excellent too, with star man Harry Kane finding the net on a regular basis.

Man Utd Team News

Jose Mourinho will still be without both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo who are both long term absentees with cruciate ligament injuries. Paul Pogba has a thigh injury which will almost certainly keep him out of this game, but Eric Bailly and Marouane Fellaini could return to the squad. Phil Jones was injured after 23 minutes at Huddersfield, so he is a doubt.

As their last League game was a shock defeat, Mourinho is likely to make changes here. If Bailly and Jones do not make it, the manager may be forced into starting Victor Lindelof, who had an extremely poor game coming off the bench last week. Henrikh Mkhitaryan will likely replace Jess Lingard, while Matteo Darmian and Marcus Rashford could both start.

Tottenham Team News

Though Harry Kane limped off in the 4-1 win against Liverpool, his manager Mauricio Pochettino has gone on record to say that it is ‘nothing serious’. Therefore, he will be expected to start as normal for Spurs. While Erik Lamela is nearing a return after being out for over a year with a hip injury, this game is likely to come too soon. Unless there are any late injuries, Tottenham are likely to keep the same 11 that dispatched Liverpool with ease.

Man Utd v Tottenham Predictions

This will be two excellent attacks against two excellent defences, which makes it an extremely intriguing contest. Neither side concede a lot of goals, but both sides like to score a lot at the other end. Something will have to give, and it will be interesting to see which side will start the game as the aggressor.

As Manchester United are the home team, you would expect them to take the game to their opponent. However, they will be wary of being caught on the break, particularly with Harry Kane in such good form. Depending on the fitness of Phil Jones, United may or may not be a solid defensive unit. Lindelof has not had a great start in England and if he plays, Spurs are sure to single him out.

Fresh off demolishing Liverpool last week, Tottenham will be full of confidence. The 3-5-2 formation is doing wonders for them, with plenty of options all over the pitch. Even though both sides are great at the back, it is tough to see either side keeping a clean sheet, such is the attacking talent on the pitch.

The tip is for Manchester United to just edge this one, but that would require Romelu Lukaku to show up and deliver a brilliant performance. Kane is very likely to get on the scoresheet, so Man Utd to win 2-1 looks like good value. Of course, this means an Over 2.5 Goals bet may be worth a shot too.
