Derby v Fulham Preview & Tips

Derby host Fulham on Friday evening at Pride Park Stadium with both sides looking to get back to winning ways after failing to pick up maximum points in their last two match. Read the Derby v Fulham match preview and predictions below.

After a run of 11 games with just one loss, Derby have only managed to pick up a single point in their last two matches which resulted in a 3-2 loss away to Bristol City and a 1-1 draw at home to Huddersfield. Phillip Cocu will want his side to get back to winning ways on Friday in the hope of ending the season in a playoff position of which they are currently nine points adrift of. Although Friday’s match won’t be an easy one to take away all three points from, the hosts will be confident given that they have the joint best home record in the Championship so far this season having picked up 33 points from a possible 51.

Fulham have struggled for goals since losing their top scorer Aleksandar Mitrović to injury in the match against Hull in January and have averaged just 0.86 goals per game since. However, their defensive record is solid on the road where Scott Parker’s side have conceded an average of just 0.94 goals per game.

The visitors currently sit in third position in the Championship, three points off an automatic promotion place but also just three points away from dropping below the playoff positions. Every point matters at this stage of the season for Fulham and coming away from Friday’s game without a point won’t be seen as an option for them.
