It’s been contrasting fortunes for these local rivals this season. The Blues have had a terrible first half of the campaign and are looking over their shoulder at the relegation zone. Meanwhile, it’s been an impressive run for Wolves so far who sit top of the table heading into the busy winter schedule.
Birmingham City Team News
New Birmingham boss Steve Cotterill watched his side nick a point away to Sheffield United last weekend and may want to keep the same starting XI. Maxime Colin, Isaac Vassell and Carl Jenkinson are injured but David Stockdale has been passed fit and will start in goal.
Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News
With The visitors in such good form, it’s hard to see Nuno Espirito Santo making any unnecessary changes. He has a fully fit squad to choose from and no suspensions to worry about. One potential alteration could be to drop Ryan Bennett who made a silly mistake against Bolton Wanderers.

Birmingham City v Wolverhampton Wanderers Predictions
Birmingham are beginning to look a little more organised at the back but they still lack a cutting edge in attack and the old saying goes ‘goals win games’. On the balance of form you’d say they have the slimmest of chances here but derby games do often throw up strange results.
That said, it’s hard not to be impressed with Wolves right now. They took apart a Bolton side that were looking rejuvenated, smashing five goals past them last weekend. One potential weakness is their defence but they are scoring so many, that it hasn’t been a problem so far.
Birmingham will probably need to get physical to try and stop Wolves from playing and that runs the risk of a sending off. They may be neighbours but I feel they are worlds apart in terms of ability right now and Wolves should win this at a canter.
