William Hill Offer Odds On Future Anthony Joshua Fights

William Hill mobile are already offering odds on future potential fights for Anthony Joshua, before he has even stepped into the ring with his next opponent Kubrat Pulev.

The British fighter is possibly the biggest boxing star on the planet at the moment and everyone in the heavyweight division is looking at getting the big pay day that comes with fighting the IBF, WBA (Super) and IBO World Heavyweight Champion.

Anthony Joshua Factfile

  • Born on 15th October 1989 in Watford
  • Won Olympic Gold at London 2012 in the Super-Heavyweight category
  • Had his first professional fight on 5th October 2013
  • Professional record of 19-0, with all of his wins by knock out
  • Won the IBF Heavyweight title against Charles Martin on 9th April 2016
  • Won the WBO (Super) and IBO Heavyweight titles at Wembley against Wladmir Klitschko on 27th April 2017

The fight against Pulev is due to take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on 28th October, where ‘AJ’ will be defending all three of his titles. The Bulgarian will have a tough fight on his hands to trouble Joshua, with the Brit going into the contest as a massive favourite. William Hill Mobile are currently offering odds of 1/25 on Joshua retaining his championship belts, while the outsider Pulev can be backed at 9/1.

It is fair to say that not many experts expect a tough fight for the champ, and this is probably why William Hill mobile have decided to offer odds on potential future fights. Let’s take a look at how the odds shape up at the moment, and see who is the most likely to trouble AJ in a future bout.

William Hill mobile future fight odds

Anthony Joshua v Tyson Fury

William Hill mobile odds

Joshua 1/3

Fury 9/4

Let’s be honest, this is the big fight that we all want to see. At the time of writing, Tyson Fury is far from being in fighting shape, but if he was to make a comeback then the Joshua fight is the obvious choice. After all, Fury was the IBF, WBA (Super) and IBO Heavyweight Champion after beating Wladmir Klitschko back in 2015. He had to relinquish all of his championships and has not fought professionally since.

Fury, like Joshua, has not lost a fight as a professional boxer. He holds a record of 25 fights, 25 wins with 18 by knock out. The bookies seem to believe that Fury is the man most likely to beat Joshua if a fight was to take place in the future. In all fairness, Tyson did outbox Wladmir Klitschko in their bout and if he can get back to that level somehow then a fight against Joshua really would be fascinating stuff.

There has been an ongoing war of words between the two men for years now, and the best way to settle that is always in the ring.

Anthony Joshua v David Haye

William Hill mobile odds

Joshua 1/4

Haye 11/4

David Haye has had a long and illustrious career, but there are big question marks on whether or not he can still compete at the top level, especially against the likes of Anthony Joshua. The last time Haye fought was against Tony Bellew in March, and his dream return to prime time turned into a nightmare as he injured his achilles tendon in the sixth round. Even though he soldiered on, the fight was stopped in round 11.

The Hayemaker is looking to avenge that loss, with a rematch against Bellew likely to be announced for December. If he was to win that, then Joshua may be on the horizon. After all, Haye has plenty of great performances under his belt in the past, such as wins against Nikolai Valuev and Dereck Chisora.

By the time the fight would come around, Haye would be at least 37 years of age and would be taking on a Joshua that is in his prime. A very tough ask indeed, even with Haye’s punching power.

David Haye

Anthony Joshua v Deontay Wilder

William Hill mobile odds

Joshua 2/9

Wilder 3/1

No pun intended, but Deontay Wilder really is the wild card of the heavyweight division. The 31 year old is the current WBC Heavyweight Champion and a big unification fight would make perfect sense. He claimed a bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, which let to his nickname of the ‘Bronze Bomber’.

Wilder’s professional record is excellent, winning all 38 of his fights, with 37 of those coming by way of knock out. The only fight that went the distance was when he won the WBC title, against Bermane Stiverne. His next big fight is due to be against Luis Ortiz in November. There are plenty of fans around the world that would love to see Wilder and AJ go at it and it seems like this is only a matter of time.

It would certainly be an explosive contest that would be unlikely to go all twelve rounds. As with the other potential contests, Joshua would start as the favourite.

Anthony Joshua v Tony Bellew

William Hill mobile odds

Joshua 1/16

Bellew 7/1

If Bellew was to beat David Haye yet again in their rematch, could the Evertonian be set for an even bigger contest against Anthony Joshua? As it stands, a fight between the two admittedly looks fairly unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

The issue with a Bellew match against AJ is that ‘Bomber’ Bellew is not a natural heavyweight. He had to put quite a bit of weight on to face Haye and going against a huge puncher like Joshua may not be the best idea. It would certainly be a big money fight though, and would capture the attention of the general public.

Bellew has a very good professional record with only 2 losses in his 39 fights. Still, he would obviously go into any potential fight with Anthony Joshua as a massive underdog, which is probably the way he likes it.

Anthony Joshua v Joseph Parker

William Hill mobile odds

Joshua 1/20

Parker 8/1

New Zealand’s Joseph Parker has been quietly making a name for himself in the heavyweight division over the last few years. Aged just 25, he became the first heavyweight boxer from either New Zealand or the Pacific Islands to win a major boxing world championship when he defeated Andy Ruiz for the WBO heavyweight title in December 2016.

It is fair to say he is yet to announce himself on the scene in big fashion and many casual fans would not know him if he passed them on the street. If he gets some big wins in the next year or two though, a fight against Joshua would make a lot of sense.

If the fight was to take place, AJ would go into the fight as a massive favourite.

Anthony Joshua v Hughie Fury

William Hill mobile odds

Joshua 1/33

H.Fury 10/1

Tyson is not the only member of the Fury family who may be looking for a big fight with AJ. His younger cousin Hughie Fury is building a reputation as an excellent fighter. It is still very early in his career, and at only 23 years old it looks like a very bright future may be on the horizon.

Fury turned professional at the age of 18 and has since won 20 fights. In order to face Anthony Joshua he would need quite a few more wins under his belt you would think.

The bookies don’t seem to rate the young Fury’s chances if a fight does happen, though.

For the one Joshua fight that is confirmed to be going ahead, we hope to see some bookmaker offers listed for the Pulev fight, so that we can turn the offers into cash through the use of matched betting techniques. If there are any good offers listed, we will be sure to put together a step by step guide for each, showing you how you can make a profit.
