William Hill Change Acca Insurance Terms

Matched bettors were dealt something of a blow today when William Hill made an amendment to the terms of a popular betting offer. William Hill Acca Insurance is the ‘go to’ for most savvy punters looking to make a profit from accumulator offers but the latest changes to the terms have dramatically lessened its value.

What Have William Hill Changed?

Under the old terms you could get up to £50 free bet refund if one team let your 5-Fold (or bigger) acca down. Now that value is capped at £20 which has a knock-on effect to the Expected Value (EV) when matched betting. However, it is now possible to claim more than one free bet per day, provided that the aggregate value is no bigger than £20. For example; you can now qualify for two £10 free bets each day.

Another major change is the application of the minimum odds requirement per leg of the accumulator bet. Now selections from the following leagues and competitions must have minimum odds of 1/5 (1.2) having previously been exempt from the restriction; English Premier League, English FA Cup, English League Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, English Championship, English League One, English League Two, Scottish Premiership, Spanish La Liga Primera, Spanish Segunda, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga, French Ligue 1, Portuguese Primeira Liga, Dutch Eredivisie, Turkish Super Lig, Italian Coppa Italia, Spanish Copa Del Rey and Community Shield.

The final alteration is subtle but could actually be of benefit to matched betting. No longer will only one free bet will be granted per losing selection. As it’s not uncommon for multiple bets to contain the same teams, a situation could arise whereby you have the same losing selection in two separate accas. Please bear in mind that the maximum daily free bet amount of £20 will still apply.
