Who will win Strictly Come Dancing 2019?  The predictions as Week 4 approaches

The behemoth star of the BBC’s autumn schedule returns tomorrow night for week 4 of the glittery dance show.  Even at this early stage in the competition, viewers can clearly spot real talent and so too can the nation’s bookmakers.  Bookmakers have named Kelvin Fletcher, Karim Zeroual, Emma Barton and Dev Griffin as the top 4 celebrities most likely to win.

Kelvin, with his partner Oti Mabuse, is leading the field (with two 10’s for his sensational Mary Poppins routine last week) and bookmakers BetFred and William Hill identify him as firm favourite to win, with current odds of 11/8.  We expect him to sizzle as he dances the rumba on Saturday night. At the beginning of the series, he said “I want to be smooth, going around the dancefloor like John Travolta”.  The 35-year old former Emmerdale star is living his dream!

Karim Zeroual is dancing the tango this weekend with partner Amy Dowden.  The 25-year old CBBC presenter is top-of-the-leaderboard material and bookmakers William Hill and BetFred offer odds of 7/2 that Karim will lift the glitterball trophy later this year.

EastEnders’ star, Emma Barton, is the top female performer so far in the opinion of the bookmakers.  Her professional partner, Anton Du Beke, had the misfortune to be eliminated first from the 2018 competition with celebrity Susannah Constantine. But his luck has certainly changed this year as 42-year old Emma is proving to be a talented dancer, and doubtless the pair will deliver a terrific jive on tomorrow’s show.  Top bookies such as Betway and PaddyPower are offering odds of 8/1 that Emma will win the show.

Last but not least amongst the top echelon of celebrities is radio DJ and TV host Dev Griffin.  He dropped his professional dance partner, Dianne Buswell, in rehearsals for last week’s show and the Australian had to be carted off to hospital for treatment.  Despite this mishap, the pair had a successful performance with their Couples Choice routine on an Aladdin theme. Let’s hope his cha-cha will less eventful. A number of bookmakers are offering odds of 10/1 that Dev will win the seventeenth series of Strictly, including bet365, Betfair, Paddy Power and BetFred.

There are thirteen couples left now and spare a thought for those languishing at the bottom of the leaderboard.  Former footballer David James may well go this weekend despite saving himself and partner Nadiya Bychkova in the dance-off last week.  Fellow competitors Emma Weymouth, Mike Bushell and Chris Ramsey also need to raise their game to remain in the Strictly Come Dancing competition in forthcoming weeks.
