It was announced today that SunBets.co.uk would be ceasing operations immediately and not accepting new customers.

SunBets.co.uk, which provides customers with a sportsbook and online casino, made the announcement today and advised all customers to withdraw any funds from their accounts as soon as possible.

The closure comes after Australian operator, Tabcorp, made the decision to end their contract early with the betting brand. It is understood that Tabcorp had originally agreed a 10 year deal with Sun Bets but following poor performance financially from Sun Bets, they have paid a reported £40m to cut their ties and end the contract early.

What does this mean for Sun Bets customers?

Sun Bets have advised customers to withdraw any funds from their accounts as soon as possible. Customers have until Thursday 2nd August to withdraw their funds via their preferred method. After which, Sun Bets will attempt to return balances via the card they hold on file.

Should you not withdraw your funds by 2nd August and Sun Bets are unable to return your funds to you, they will attempt to contact you directly to arrange payment. They will continue to attempt to contact you until Monday 17th September.

If all the steps above fail and Sun Bets have been unable to contact you by 17th September, any funds still in your account will be donated to GamCare.

Unsettled Bets

Should you have any unsettled or pending bets with Sun Bets, they will either be paid out as winners or have the stake refunded within the next few days. After which, you will need to withdraw your funds as soon as possible and before 17th September or risk losing them. Any unused free bets, free spins or golden chips will be credited as cash to their free bet value.
