Premier League Relegation Betting Odds

Premier League Relegation Betting Odds

We’re only two weeks into the new Premier League season, and there are already quite a few teams worried about the drop. Due to the money on offer for being a top flight club, the pressure to stay in the league is the biggest it has ever been.

Funnily enough, the table seems to be taking shape early as four of the current bottom seven are among the bookmakers favourites to be playing Championship football in 2018. Five of the bottom seven have also lost both of their opening games, and they will be looking for a vast improvement in the coming weeks.

Taking the odds on Jenningsbet as an example, the current favourites to go down are Brighton & Hove Albion at odds of 20/21 (1.95). In fairness, Chris Hughton’s men have had to play Manchester City and Leicester City, so they have had a tough start. The club record signing of Jose Izquierdo from Club Brugge should see their fortunes improve, but it will still be a scrap at the bottom for them.

Second favourites are Burnley, who actually started brilliantly with a win at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea. They can be backed at 13/10 (2.30), but similar to Brighton they have just broken their transfer record with the signing of striker Chris Wood from Leeds. If they’re as good at home as they were last season, a lay bet against them to go down could offer value.

Huddersfield Town are third favourites at 7/5 (2.40) despite the fact they have won both of their opening games. If they keep up this form they should be okay, and the lay bet against them to finish in the bottom three may be a good option.

Swansea City took at mauling against Man United and can be backed at 6/4 (2.50), while Crystal Palace and Newcastle United have both started terribly. If the Magpies don’t get the signings they need, 5/2 (3.50) might be good value. Though Bournemouth have spent money, two losses so far sees them at 3/1 (4.00). West Ham United are currently bottom having conceded seven goals, and can be backed as an outsider at 13/2 (7.50).
