Ladbrokes Extends Rangers Partnership

Ladbrokes Bookmakers

Established bookie Ladbrokes has announced an extension to its sponsorship of Rangers FC. The existing deal will run for an additional two years until at least 2019. Ladbrokes are the official betting provider at Ibrox Stadium and will continue to provide all retail betting services at the famous football ground throughout the 2017-18 and 2018-19 Scottish Premiership seasons.

The contract extension keeps Ladbrokes in a strong position within Scottish football. The bookmaker is the official sponsor of the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Championship, Scottish League One and Scottish League Two. This gives the firm great brand awareness North of the border and the agreement has been met with praise from both parties.

Ladbrokes regional director for Scotland and Northern Ireland Christopher Hector said;

“It’s fantastic news that we’ll be providing the betting services again for Rangers at such an iconic location in Ibrox Stadium”

It’s thought that the club had numerous other options but elected to remain with Ladbrokes with Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson saying;

“The club has enjoyed a great relationship with Ladbrokes over the years and are delighted that they will be with us for the next two years.”

Ladbrokes is one of the oldest and most reputable UK bookmakers with a company history dating back to 1886. Rangers are credited as being the most successful team in club football, having won the league title 54 times, the Scottish Cup 33 times and the Scottish League Cup 27 times. The Teddy Boys ended a four-year hiatus from the top-flight last season and managed to finish in third place in their first season back in the big time.

Ladbrokes £50 Free Bet

New Ladbrokes online customers can pick up a £50 free bet when opening an account. By entering the promo code ‘F50’ during the registration process, your very first bet will be matched with an equivalent free bet, up to £50. It’s a brilliant offer for the average punter but is arguably more appealing to those in the know about matched betting.

If you haven’t heard of it, matched betting is a way of making money online by playing bookmaker offers to your advantage. There is no gambling involved, as the technique involves covering all outcomes to ensure a profit. All earnings from the mathematically proven technique are classed as winnings and are therefore tax-free.

Let’s use the Ladbrokes £50 free bet to demonstrate how it works. In order to receive the free bet, you must first place a bet with your own money. This bet must be wagered at odds of 1/2 (1.5) or greater. You will need to find a close match between the bookie odds and those at a betting exchange such as Smarkets. You will then place your bet and immediately place a lay bet at the exchange on the same selection. A lay bet is to bet that something will not win.

Matched Bets premium access includes use of our odds matching software. This comes in handy for finding suitable matches on Ladbrokes offers. The very latest odds will be shown and updates refresh automatically to keep you in control. All you need to do is select a bet by clicking your cursor or tapping the screen on mobile.

This will open up our matched betting calculator and populate the fields with the relevant bet information. You will be alerted to any odds changes and will be able to refresh the calculator with a single click/tap. Using ‘Normal Mode’ the calculator will tell you exactly how much your lay stake should be at the exchange.

Let’s say you found a bet with back odds of 1/2 (1.50) and lay odds of 1.55 on Smarkets. The recommended lay amount would be £49.02 and you’d need £26.96 in the exchange to cover the liability. You place the bookmaker bet first, followed by the exchange lay bet. Now whatever happens, you will be down £1.96 but have a £50 free bet.

Ladbrokes-Qualifying-Bet

  • Win at bookmaker = £75 bookie return – £26.96 exchange liability = £48.04
  • Win at exchange = £50 bookie loss + £49.02 lay stake – 2% commission = £48.04

You can then use your free bet to make a profit. Again, you can use the Odds Matcher to find a bet for this. Now you want to bet at bigger odds to make it easier to extract cash from the free bet. Let’s assume there is a match at odds of 5/1 (6.0) with Ladbrokes and 6.5 at Smarkets.

You select this and once again the calculator is filled out for you. This time you will use ‘Freebet’ mode. This is because the stake is not returned on the free bet and a slightly different calculation is used. Sticking with our example the suggested lay stake will be £38.58 and you will need £212.19 in the exchange to cover the liability. Whatever the outcome, you will make a profit of £37.81 from the free bet.

Ladbrokes-Free-Bet-Calculator

  • Win at bookmaker = £250 bookie return – £212.19 exchange liability = £37.81
  • Win at exchange = £0 bookie loss + £38.58 lay stake – 2% commission = £37.81

To recap, in this example it cost £1.96 to qualify for the free bet and you made £37.81 with the free bet. All told that’s a final profit of £35.85 (£37.81 – £1.96 = £35.85).
