The JCB Triumph Hurdle is the first race to take place on day 4 of the Cheltenham Festival and is open to juvenile novice horses of four years of age.

The race is run over a distance of around 2 miles and 1 furlong around the Cheltenham new course and features eight hurdles.

Originally run at Hurst Park in Surrey when it was established in 1939, the race was transferred to Cheltenham, two years after Hurst Park closed. For three years, the Triumph Hurdle featured in the Cheltenham April meeting before becoming part of the Cheltenham Festival in 1968.
