After consecutive league losses to Strasbourg and Nimes, Monaco have now achieved back-to-back wins against Angers and Amiens to lift them into seventh position in Ligue 1. Robert Moreno’s sides chances of automatic Champions League qualification are slim being 14 points adrift of 2nd place Marseille but they are in with a chance of netting the qualification spot which they are currently 6 points off. However, Friday’s opponents are also challenging and are just 4 points short of 3rd place Rennes and so this is a match which neither side can afford to lose.
