Premier League Betting Tips

With only a couple of weeks remaining to crown the Premier League champion, we have some interesting betting markets that include top scorer, top assists and the 2019 Premier League winner. sport betting tips by 888 Sport New Jersey give us their predictions for these markets in their blog.

So far this season:

  • West Ham and Arsenal have failed to deliver in the long run, no surprise here.
  • Huddersfield Town ended up last as expected.
  • Chelsea are on the hunt for a new coach once more.

As for which team will clinch the title, it has always been a race between Liverpool and Manchester City from the beginning with other teams who were expected to be in the running not being up to the challenge. Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal have been lacking in character and all three have had disappointing spells during the season.

Two games remain in the season for both Liverpool and Manchester City with neither looking like they’re going to slip up.

Liverpool

Although the pressure is on City to retain their one-point lead, it is Liverpool who have a slightly more difficult end to the season. Unlike Manchester City, who were eliminated by Tottenham on away goals, Klopp’s side remain in the Champions League and line up against Spanish giants Barcelona on Wednesday evening at the Nou Camp. The semi-final clash is obviously an important game for the Reds and may take it’s toll on the players when they return home to face Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle just three days later. Newcastle’s season has had its ups and downs but they have been relatively solid at St James Park of late, winning five of their last seven matches on home turf including a 2-1 win over defending champions Manchester City. Benitez will aim to get his tactics right against his old club and look to achieve a result similar to when they faced City towards the end of January. Anything other than a win for the visitors would surely end any hopes of a league title this season.

Following their trip to St James Park, Liverpool face Barcelona again in the 2nd leg of the Champions League Semi Final before hosting Wolves in the final game of the season which could be another tricky fixture for the Reds.

Manchester City

City have a one-point lead over their rivals currently and so the pressure is on them not to slip up. The Citizens face Leicester City at home on Monday before travelling to Brighton the following Sunday. We’d expect City to pick up maximum points in both these matches but Leicester’s current form may unnerve them with The Foxes picking up five wins in their last seven, including a 3-0 win in their more recent game against Arsenal. Striker Jamie Vardy has found his form of late, bagging 8 goals in those seven fixtures and City’s defence will hope to keep the England forward at bay.

So which team will triumph?

Based on past performances and current form, we’d expect both sides to pick up maximum points in their two remaining matches. However, with Liverpool’s additional Champions League fixtures and a tricky trip to St James Park, we feel that if anyone is going to drop points, it will be the Reds. However, hosting Leicester City won’t be a walk in the park for City and they’ll be hoping to come away with three points and finish things off in a slightly easier fixture against Brighton six days later.

Top Goalscorer

With the two st strikers in the Premier League playing for Liverpool and City, it’s no surprise to see them compete for this season top scorer title. The current tallies are:

  • Salah (Liverpool), Aubameyang (Arsenal), Agüero (Man City)   19
  • Mané (Liverpool) 18
  • Sterling (Man City), Kane (Tottenham) 17

Looking at the bookies right now, Sterling stands out with odds of +1200 considering his incredible goals as of late.

Top Assist

Eden Hazard of Chelsea is leading with 13 assists, one more than Ryan Fraser from Bournemouth and Christian Eriksen from Tottenham. Chelsea will be distracted with tough league games and two pending Europa League matches; it is possible that Hazard slips. Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sané are two great options to place a bet on.
